SEACUS began in 1978 as a small group of citizens concerned about the welfare of our community's seniors. They wrote a grant and were funded as The Graham Greenlee Senior Nutrition Program. This funding allowed them to serve congregate meals to seniors. Later the Older American Act expanded it's focus to include home bound seniors. As ARCHS (Arizona Rural Community Health Services) services were expanded to include Home Delivered Meals, Personal Care, and Housekeeping.
In 1992 the Older American Act focused on providing support to family caregivers. ARCHS was then funded to provide In Home Respite, and financial support to families for Adaptive Aides and Home Repairs. In 1995 we were officially incorporated as SEACUS (South Eastern Arizona Community Unique Services), and we continue to provide quality services to community seniors and their families.
